Making your monthly mortgage payment

Helping you choose which method is best for you.

Let us help you choose the best way to make your monthly mortgage payment with our comparative guide. There are several easy and convenient ways to pay your mortgage every month, including Direct Debit, online transfer and various other options.

Direct Debit – the hassle free way to pay. Click here for more information on paying by Direct Debit.

Ways to pay at a glance

Whichever payment method you choose, it is important to make sure your payment details are accurate and that it reaches us by your due date each month. This is especially important when your due date falls at a weekend, or on a Bank Holiday. This is to avoid your account(s) falling into arrears, which may lead to fees and affect your credit file.

Payment Method Features What to do next How long does this method take
Direct Debit Regular, automatic payments with the reassurance that you will not forget a payment.

A £6.50 charge is payable if collection fails first time. If you have more than one mortgage, this charge applies to each individual mortgage account.
Either click here to download or call us on 0330 159 9610. Your Direct Debit must be set up at least 4 working days prior to your first payment due date, to allow for collection
Online Transfer If you use online banking, make a payment anytime, anywhere with an internet connection. Make a payment using our account details (click here for details), quoting your mortgage account number as the reference.

If you have more than one mortgage, a separate payment needs to be made for each one.
Payments made after 6:30pm, at the weekend or on a bank holiday will be applied to your account the following working day.
Standing Order

Set it up with your bank and payments will be made on the same day every month.

Contact your bank or access your online banking to set up a payment.

Please note: if your payment amount changes it is your responsibility to amend your standing order details.

If you have more than one mortgage, a separate payment needs to be made for each one.

Please instruct your bank to make the payment at least four working days before your mortgage payment due date.

Please Note: if your due date falls on a weekend or Bank Holiday, the payment will be applied to your account the following working day.
In Branch For people who prefer to make face-to-face transactions. Visit Royal Bank of Scotland or NatWest to make a payment. You will need a paying in book to pay this way. Contact us on 0330 159 9610 to request one.

Payments will be applied to your account the following working day.

Please Note: A £1 fee is charged for every branch payment made.

Cheque

A £6.50 charge is payable if collection fails due to lack of funds.

Simply post your cheque to us (our address can be found further down this page). Please allow at least five working days to allow for postage and the payment to be applied to your account.
Pay by Direct Debit

In August 2016 the notice period required before changing the date or amount of your monthly payments reduced from 10 working days to 4 working days.

By far the most popular way to pay many household bills. Once set up, Direct Debit is hassle-free and your payment is automatically covered by the Direct Debit guarantee.

You also have the peace of mind that your payment has been made on time and is free, if your account is up to date. It’s easy to set up and you can re-arrange or cancel it at any time – just call us to change your payment or details.

Pay by Online Transfer (Faster Payments)

If you’re more comfortable using online banking, then please use the following details to make your payment.

Bank Name: NRAM Ltd

Account number: 80092071
Reference number: Your mortgage account number

Please note payments made after 6.30pm or at weekends and Bank Holidays will not be applied to your mortgage account until the next working day. This is especially important to note as a late payment may lead to arrears fees being charged and an adverse effect on your credit file.

If you have more than one mortgage, a separate payment with the appropriate reference number needs to be made for each one.

A Standing Order can be set up by phoning or visiting your bank, or online if you use online banking.

It can only be set up and changed by you via your bank so that you remain in full control of your finances.
